“We would like to express our satisfaction with the agreement achieved at the meeting between the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Rumen Radev, and Turkish President, Recep Erdoğan to freeze the Botaş contract for a period of 15 months.
We share the grounds for freezing the contract, since Bulgaria and Turkiye have a common interest in using the maximum natural gas transmission capacity; as well as the fact that the two companies will work to renegotiate the contract based on current market conditions.
This gesture by Turkiye is an example of good neighbourly relations which are for us particularly important, since Turkiye is a key strategic partner for Bulgaria".
