Opportunities for cooperation in the prevention of trafficking in human beings based on trust and professionalism were discussed. Such measures will guarantee the inability of any Minister of the Interior to misuse data from international registers. This is an extremely important condition for the implementation of effective prevention of trafficking in children and protection of their personal data.
The delegation also held bilateral meetings with Congressman Keith Self (Texas) - member of the Foreign Policy Committee of the US Congress and chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and Congressman Joe Wilson (South Carolina) - member of the Foreign Policy and Armed Forces Committees and co-chair of the US-Bulgaria Friendship Group. Topical political matters were discussed including bilateral cooperation in the areas of security and defence, Bulgaria's attitude to support for Ukraine, the country's commitments to NATO and transatlantic cooperation and the security of the Black Sea region.
