In his procedural statement, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Group of Vazrazhdane (Revival) regarding a second vote, used a number of terms which not only provoke in me a sense of astonishment, but huge concern.
He was referring not to any country, but to Turkiye. Madame Chairperson, I want to ask whether the Republic of Turkiye is not a good neighbour? Is the Republic of Turkiye not a NATO partner of Bulgaria? Did the Republic of Turkiye not accept hundreds of thousands of our brothers and sisters when the Bulgarian authorities expelled them from their homeland, our homeland?
Today in the territory of the Republic of Turkiye, are there not five hundred thousand Bulgarian citizens – our brothers and sisters? What does this means when he refers to a Turkish vilayet? We have not seen such mockery and phobia in the Bulgarian parliament in recent years.
Please comment on such incidents and sanction this xenophobia.
